What are the semiconductors?
They are elements that themselves behave as one conductive or as insulants depending on different factors, as for example the electrical or magnetic field, the pressure, the radiation that it affects, or the temperature of the atmosphere in which it is.

Types of semiconductors
- Intrinsic. When the glass (silicon or germanium) if it finds the temperature sets some electrons they can absorb the energy necessary to come off to the band of conduction leaving the corresponding hollow in the band of valence. The required energies, the atmosphere temperature, are of 0,7 eV and 0,3 eV for the silicon and the germanium respectively.
- Extrinsic. If, as the previous one, a small percentage of impurities, that is, trivalent or pentavalent elements is added for him to an intrinsic semiconductor, the semiconductor is named extrinsic, and it is said that it is doped. The electrons and the hollows receive the name of bearers.
- N Type. Obten itself carrying out a process of doped adding a certain type of atoms to the semiconductor to be able to increase the number of free bearers of load (in this case negatives or electrons).
